October 5, 2025 | Ikpoba-Okha & Ovia North East, Edo State
From Ikpoba-Okha to Ovia North East, our outreach carried more than birds — it delivered opportunity. The Okpara-Osim Foundation supported local poultry farmers by providing day-old chicks and the essential supplies and training they need to rear them successfully.
This chicks sharing initiative focused on building durable livelihoods. Beneficiaries received chicks alongside quality feed, vitamins, and practical demonstrations on husbandry and disease prevention — all aimed at improving survival rates and creating income streams for families.
The program combined targeted inputs and hands-on coaching: distribution of day-old chicks; starter and grower feed; essential vitamins and supplements; and short training sessions covering brooding, feeding schedules, shelter basics, and simple biosecurity measures to protect flocks.
Recipients were shown how to care for their stock so the birds can reach maturity and become a reliable source of nutrition and income. The Foundation encourages beneficiaries to multiply and share success within their communities to amplify impact.
The determination we met in Edo State underscores why grassroots interventions matter. With the right inputs and knowledge, farmers can transform small opportunities into sustainable enterprises — and together we grow, compete, and triumph.
